Haha, alright, I will just tell you my whole story...xD It's pretty long...=P Haha, I've had to repeat my story so many times that now I just have it copy and pasted at hand...>.<

Well, I first heard about Islam in the news when I was very young, probably about seven or eight years old...all they said was very bad things about Islam then. They never showed any of the wonderful things about Islam on the news...ever. They just showed the extremists and groups like the Taliban that don't actually follow Islam. Then last year in school they briefly went over Islam in world history class...I thought it was pretty interesting and being the knowledge seeking type of person I am, I wanted to learn a lot more about the religion to see if all the bad things so many people said were true about Islam. Then my friend at school converted a few months ago and lent me the Qur'an [though in English, so not the REAL Qur'an] and the Hadith. Well, I really liked all that I had read and found out through researching Islam on the internet. I also asked my other few Muslim friends tons about their religion...I liked everything they said about Islam also. I thought about it for quite a long time before acting...Islam seemed to fit me much better than Christianity ever did and I truly thought it was the right path for me. I was raised Christian [Lutheran, specifically], right? But I always sort of had trouble believing that Jesus was God. I still definitely don't believe it, lol...I like Islam because it's monotheistic [seems a lot more focused], more structured, it focuses on helping others, and you know what? Women seem to have a lot of rights under Islam...I don't think most people see that.

So my friend's family took me to the masjid to say the shahadah on the first of February of this year. Haha, I remember I was soo nervous at first...but after awhile being there, I felt better since everyone was so nice to me. The mother also lent me soo many hijabs...so I am definitely eternally grateful to them for helping me so much!

My parents really don't like all this. They think Islam oppresses women. My father says he doesn't want me to be treated like property by any man...Now Islam seems to be a forbidden topic in my household...

Today I am so glad to have finally found the truth and the light...and I am so much happier because of it...Nonetheless, I still have a LONG way to go! Haha...I have so much to learn and I am thankful for all the sisters on myspace and other sites willing to help me!...Inshallah, I will one day though with great effort, time, but most of all, faith in Allah (swt).

there's been a great deal of discussion, yes, about the properties of man. Animal or angel? You were carved from bone, but your heart it's just sand.

If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did.
